My folio of work is primarily landscape and street photography. I am drawn to capturing how people interact with the landscape, mankind’s impact on the landscape and exploring the unfrozen moment (‘timescapes’) using extended exposures.
I do not believe everything can, or should, be done in-camera, Like Ansel Adams I believe the negative (now the Raw file) is just the music score, and the work in post is our performance. These skills, I believe, are an essential aspect of the holistic process of photography. I believe the camera does not always faithfully record a scene – the camera merely interprets it. Editing of the Raw data is required to restore the subject to how we first saw and experienced it. Image editing is capable of restoring the emotional reality as well as altering reality.
