I began taking pictures 3 years ago as therapy after my mom died, and as a way to “talk” to the remaining family I barely know. We live in vastly different economic worlds and “showing” myself was easier than “telling”. For example, I couldn’t explain what being homeless feels like, but I could show it.
Now I’m focused on building my skills, learning from others whose work I admire and mastering the technical aspects of digital photography.
My subject matter varies with my mood but I love old, run-down things with history and stories to tell. They feel like kindred spirits in a way.
I’m currently using a Canon EOS Rebel xsi, my most treasured gift.
