I love the frozen moment. I love capturing those moments and revisiting them and walking through the memories they represent. I’ve long been fascinated with photojournalism and documentary photography. Some of the first images I remember admiring were those of Steve McCurry, Robert Capa, James Nachtwey and the incredible work that came from the WPA. I like to think that I’d be a photojournalist, but for some unfortunate decision-making on my part.
I am not an amateur photographer. I make no money from my photos, but I’ve put too much of my time, thought and self into them over the years to think of myself as an amateur. Possibly the photos themselves are my currency. I shoot with an iPhone and a Canon DSLR. I’m a Juxter and the curator the 1000 Words showcase each Sunday on the Juxt blog.
